Answering calls
Phone numbers
Get a US number for your AI employee, assign it, and see what each number is doing. Your plan includes a set number of them.
The Phone Numbers page lists the numbers your AI employees answer. Each number is assigned to one employee, so it knows who answers.
Getting a number
Under Get a number, you can enter an area code (optional, where available) and choose from real US numbers. A new number takes about 30 seconds to activate. You can leave the page while it does.
You can also get a number from your employee's Training tab, in step 4, "Turn it on". Only owners and admins get numbers.
How many you get
Numbers are included in your plan, at no extra charge:
- Free trial: 1
- Starter: 1
- Business: 3
- Pro: 10
Once you've used them all, release one to get a different number, or move to a bigger plan once billing switches on.
What each number is doing
Each number shows a status, for example:
- Getting ready: it can't take calls yet.
- No one answering: no employee is assigned. Callers hear that the line can't take calls.
- Not answering yet: the employee assigned to it isn't working yet.
- No hand-off: it answers, but callers who need a person can't reach one. Set a hand-off number.
Your current number
If you forward your existing business line to this number, add it under Your current number (optional). How to forward: forward your calls to an AI.
Backup phone
In Settings → Callers, set a Backup phone. If Nerro ever can't answer, your calls ring this phone instead. Use one that doesn't forward calls back to Nerro, like your cell.
Releasing a number
Choose Release this number to disconnect it. Any employee using it stops receiving calls. If your business line forwards to it, change the forwarding first.
Live calls at once
A business can have up to 6 live calls at the same time, incoming and outgoing together.
Still stuck? Email support@nerro.si. A person replies within 24 business hours.
