Leads and outbound
Calling rules your AI employee always follows
Every outbound call follows the same rules: consent, 9 AM to 8 PM local time, at most 3 calls a day, no Sunday sales calls, and opt-out.
Every call Nerro places to a lead or a campaign contact follows the same rules. You can't switch them off. They're the minimum Nerro holds every business to. They aren't legal advice, so check your state's rules with a lawyer.
Consent
Your AI employee only calls people who agreed to be contacted.
- Follow-up calls (reminders, renewals, call-backs) need consent on file. A list you confirmed on import counts.
- Sales calls need each person's written consent from your own form, with the exact words they agreed to. A list you confirmed on import covers follow-up calls only.
When calls go out
- Only between 9 AM and 8 PM where the person lives. If their state spans two time zones, the window has to hold in both.
- Follow-up calls on Sunday only from noon.
- No sales calls on Sundays.
- No sales calls on US federal holidays.
- At most 3 calls to a number in any 24 hours.
- Calls to Canada on weekends only between 10 AM and 6 PM where the person lives.
On every call
The call opens by saying who it is: your employee's name, that it's an AI assistant with your business, and why it's calling. Right after, it says that if they'd rather not get these calls, they can say so and it'll take them off the list. It also says "This call is transcribed."
If the person says "stop calling me", they're added to your do-not-call list at once. A wrong number is never called again. If it reaches voicemail, it leaves one short message, and never asks questions.
Before you can call anyone
Finish Settings → Calling registration: your business type, legal name, address, website, a contact, and your EIN (or the owner's name for a sole proprietor). An owner or admin agrees to Nerro's outbound calling terms. Nerro then checks your details, usually within one business day.
Sales calls also need you to confirm, in Outbound setup on the Leads page, that you check the National Do-Not-Call Registry and that you're registered in the states that require it.
Nerro never calls patients, because healthcare isn't HIPAA-ready yet.
Still stuck? Email support@nerro.si. A person replies within 24 business hours.
